Automakers focus on California for fuel cell cars
31 August 2005GM, Honda and BMW are looking at the possibilities in California for hydrogen powered cars due to the hydrogen highway initiative of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. BMW is planning on offering a small number of its 7 series in 2010, powered by both a gasoline engine and a fuel cell system.

Weizmann Institute produces hydrogen using solar energy
31 August 2005The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rechovot has developed a process where zinc oxide is heated by solar energy until it splits into oxygen and gaseous zinc. The gas is condensed to powder. When reacted with water it produces hydrogen and zinc oxide which is recycled back to zinc.
