Hydrogen Car or Rolls Royce

by Hydrogen Power on June 2, 2005

If you’re in the market for a hydrogen car be prepared to lay out huge dollars, at least you would right now if they were actually available. The HydroGen3 from GM comes in around one million dollars for a car that looks like your average economy car. Of course, the reason for hydrogen cars isn’t the “look at me” factor but there are a lot of people who buy cars for exactly that reason, and one million dollars can buy a lot of automotive attention.

Aside from a few odd names and identification logos plastered to their roofs and flanks, the cars assembled on the green of San Francisco’s Civic Center on Wednesday looked like, smelled like and, well, drove like most of the quiet, comfortable if not very exciting cars you can buy in any American showroom for $25,000 or so.

So, check your ego when you get out your checkbook.
